The Coconino Trail Riders (CTR) announce Mountain Madness Dualsport event

Flagstaff, AZ – The Coconino Trail Riders (CTR) are thrilled to announce the return of the annual Mountain Madness Dual Sport event, scheduled for September 6-8, 2024 in Flagstaff, Arizona. As part of the Beta / AMA National Dual Sport Series, this event promises an exhilarating weekend of riding, adventure, skill-based riding games, and good times in the picturesque landscapes of northern Arizona.

Based out of Fort Tuthill County Park, the Mountain Madness offers four unique routes for both days of riding. Sample some of the best single track in northern Arizona. Ride miles and miles of dirt road and two track trails that take you around the San Francisco Peaks and to viewpoints overlooking Sedona’s Red Rock Country. Experience the unique riding surface of the Cinders and enjoy exploring North America’s largest Ponderosa pine tree forest.

For riders looking for a challenge, the A routes will feature more single track and more challenging trails. The B routes will have more mellow single track and moderately challenging trails, and the C routes are great for newer dirt bike riders or adventure bikes. Riders who have always wanted to try navigating with a Dakar-style roadbook (not a rollchart) can choose the Rally route and use either an A5 width paper or digital roadbook.

After running the routes of their choice on Saturday, riders can compete in skill-based games like the slow race and balance beam for special prizes. With award wining catering serving up meals like Smoked Brisket, assorted fizzy beverages, and a raffle with awesome prizes, the Mountain Madness is a great way to spend a weekend riding and having a great time in some spectacular country.
