Langenthal (CH)/ Nîmes (F), February 2025: France’s leading motorcycle manufacturer, SHERCO, has entered into a long-term collaboration with MOTOREX, which will be its official partner for lubricants. The collaborating partners have already succeeded in proving their commitment to perfection at Dakar 2025.
SHERCO is the latest well-known motorcycle brand to set great store by the #raceproven products and expertise of the Swiss lubricant specialist. The global collaboration is wide-ranging:
- MOTOREX is the new original equipment manufacturer for all of SHERCO’s production bikes
- MOTOREX will provide SHERCO with extensive support for its diverse range of racing activities
- This partnership will use innovation to benefit customers
- MOTOREX will supply SHERCO’s manufacturing facilities with industrial lubricants

Among offroading fans, SHERCO is famous for its super agile trial and enduro bikes. These are based on engines and frames designed by the company itself, and the focus is on traction, efficiency and minimising weight. It is significant that the first SHERCO ST 2.5 to be built was sold at the Swiss Trial in February 1999 – in other words, MOTOREX’s home country. SHERCO was founded by former trial riders Marc Teissier and Andreu Codina in 1998.
At present, the family company is based in Nîmes in France and is managed by Marc Teissier. This site has around 150 employees and builds close to 20,000 motorcycles every year. Globally, SHERCO operates in more than 74 countries across five continents and has more than 1,100 dealerships. This is reflected in the many titles and distinguished riders in the Enduro, Extreme Enduro, Rally Raid and Trial categories. In all, SHERCO has 10 world championship titles to its name! Participation in the Dakar Rally has also featured at the top of the racing programme since 2009.
This year, Lorenzo Santolino (#15) excelled early in the event with his Stage 3 victory, while Rui Gonçalves (#19) achieved an impressive second place in Stage 10. Both riders are well aware of the importance of race-proven lubricants during the full 7,700 km stretch in the toughest conditions.
