KLIM RELEASES REDESIGNED LEGENDARY BADLANDS PRO GEAR

The most trusted name in ADV gets major upgrades in comfort, mobility,
functionality and an all-new proprietary Rogue armor package.

For over a decade, the KLIM Badlands Pro has stood as the unshakeable benchmark for waterproof adventure outerwear. In the fifth generation of the legendary Badlands Pro, KLIM went beyond simply updating the design lines by altering the physical possibilities of long-distance travel. The all-new Badlands Pro Jacket and Pant utilize KLIM’s new proprietary Rogue EXP Level 2 armor system to drastically reduce bulk and weight while improving breathability.

The most significant update to the fifth generation Badlands Pro is not just the protection itself, but how that protection allows the chassis to interface with the rider. The new Rogue EXP (Expanded Protection) Level 2 limb armor achieves CE Level 2 impact standards with a profile of just 11mm – the thickness previously associated with Level 1 armor. Rogue EXP Level 2 armor provides, on average, 44% more coverage area than standard CE-rated pads.

This slim profile combined with left- and right-side asymmetrical pad shapes allowed KLIM’s motorcycle pattern engineers to completely optimize the garment’s fit. The result is gear that feels well-fitted from the first ride, with armor that conforms to the body. To further optimize this interface, KLIM has implemented a split-sizing strategy: Size medium and smaller jackets and size 30 and smaller pants feature Compact Rogue EXP pads, while large and up use standard sizes. This helps make sure armor sizing is better scaled to the rider’s limb dimensions.

On top of a major armor upgrade, the Badlands Pro chassis remains one of the most robust kits in the adventure market. The GORE-TEX® 3-Layer Pro Shell guarantees waterproofness in the most severe weather. The highest-risk abrasion zones on the shoulders, elbows, forearms and knees are armored with custom-engineered variable-density SuperFabric®, while the main body features 630D Cordura® twisted yarn overlays. This combination provides a shield capable of withstanding repeated abuse in remote environments where gear failure is not an option.

Managing heat and fatigue is critical for the unsupported traveler. The new Rogue armor facilitates this with massive airflow gains – up to 725% increased ventilation through the back pad and 175-471% through the limbs. This internal airflow is supported by a re-engineered external ventilation system. The 18-vent layout now features angled wrist intakes designed to scoop air more aggressively at riding speeds, while spacer mesh in the back creates a cooling air gap. The popular lower leg vents improve airflow to the legs above and beyond standard waterproof ADV pants.

Beyond the armor, the redesigned Badlands Pro is enhanced by a series of tactile upgrades designed to smooth the friction points of hard-use adventure gear. The collar has been re-contoured for neck comfort and features a hidden cinch cord keeper to prevent snagging. The cuffs have been streamlined to allow for seamless integration with gloves. Even the zippers have evolved, now featuring Hypalon garages that offer improved reliability against the elements.
