HONDA REVEALS THE COMPREHENSIVE 2027 CRF1150L AFRICA TWIN LINEUP: EXPANDED 1,131CC ENGINE, ALL-NEW ENDURO SPORTS VARIANT, AND RADAR SAFETY TECH
MILAN, ITALY — Honda has pulled the covers off its heavily evolved flagship adventure bike lineup. Spearheaded by a larger displacement engine, a thoroughly refreshed chassis architecture, and the debut of the purpose-built Enduro Sports model, the 2027 CRF1150L Africa Twin family redefines versatility, long-distance touring, and genuine off-road capability.
A Larger, More Powerful 1,131cc Heart
At the mechanical core of the 2027 overhaul is a redesigned parallel-twin engine, with displacement expanded from 1,084cc to 1,131cc. Through optimized internal tuning, refined intake and exhaust tracts, and higher compression, the powerplant delivers heightened output—peaking at 117 hp alongside robust low- and mid-range torque.
The transmission features revised spacing, and riders benefit from expanded customization options across up to six configurable riding modes (including a dedicated Offroad+ setting). Both traditional manual and updated Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) configurations remain available across the family.
The All-New CRF1150L Africa Twin Enduro Sports
Highlighting the 2027 updates is an entirely new addition to the stable: the Africa Twin Enduro Sports. Designed for riders who spend significantly more time away from the tarmac, the Enduro Sports draws direct inspiration from Honda's rally program.
Rally-Inspired Styling: Features a slim, compact front end, lightweight dual LED headlights, a high-mounted front mudguard, and minimalist rear bodywork.
Dedicated Off-Road Ergonomics: Features narrower, higher, and more forward-set handlebars alongside repositioned footpegs to encourage an active riding stance.
Weight Savings: Tipping the scales at 228 kg (manual), it achieves a 9 kg weight reduction over standard stablemates by utilizing a mechanical suspension setup with extended travel, higher ground clearance, and an absence of heavy electronic windscreen hardware.
Advanced Touring and Honda SENSING RIDE
For cross-continental globetrotters, the Africa Twin Adventure Sports leans into long-haul luxury. It retains its road-biased 19-inch front wheel and massive 24.2-liter split fuel tank for extended touring ranges.
Crucially, the 2027 Adventure Sports introduces Honda SENSING RIDE technology. By integrating dual front-and-rear radars, this advanced suite introduces rider-assistance features to the motorcycle lineup, including Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Warnings, and Blind-Spot Detection.

Cutting-Edge HMI and Connectivity
Across the entire 2027 range, rider interaction has been modernized through a dual-screen human-machine interface (HMI) pairing a 5.7-inch multi-information display with a 7-inch TFT touchscreen. The system features wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside convenience upgrades like the Honda SMART Key system and USB-C integration.
