We are excited to announce the upcoming release of the Hells Canyon BDR-X(Idaho/Oregon), a new 520-mile adventure motorcycle loop that circumnavigates Hells Canyon, the deepest river gorge in North America.
The Hells Canyon BDR-X will officially launch on Friday, August 7, during the inaugural Yamaha Ténéré Trek Owner's Rally at Tamarack Resort in Donnelly, Idaho. The BDR team will host an in-person route release celebration and broadcast the event live on YouTube at 7:00 p.m. Mountain Time.

All adventure riders are invited to attend the event in person or tune in live on YouTube as the BDR team introduces the new route, shares stories from the expedition, premieres the full documentary film, and answers questions during a live Q&A.
Yamaha is offering 100 complimentary Friday evening passes for riders who would like to attend ONLY the Hells Canyon BDR-X premiere. Reserve your free admission to the release party.
Riders who want to experience the full rally (you don’t need to own a Ténéré to attend), registration for the August 6-9 event is available at Yamaha Ténéré Trek Owner's Rally page. The event features three days of riding, rider training, seminars, demo rides, and vendor exhibits, all based out of Tamarack Resort in the mountains of west-central Idaho.

Before You Ride: A Few Important BDR Reminders

As riding season gets underway, changing conditions are part of every BDR adventure. Plan ahead, ride respectfully, and follow the BDR Tenets of Responsible Travel to help ensure a safe trip while respecting local communities and protecting access for everyone.
Download the latest GPS tracks before your trip. Printed maps and older tracks may not reflect recent route changes.
Check Route Updates, seasonal closures and beware of fast-changing road conditions before you go. Many western BDRs, including Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming, typically fully open after July 1 but there still may be lingering snow and impassible conditions, like mud and sand. Please respect all gates and closures. Never ride around them.
Expect downed trees early in the season. Carry a folding saw if you have one, know the official bypasses, and be prepared to turn around if conditions are unsafe.
Stay on top of wildfire conditions. Use the BDR Interactive Map to check the wildfire activity layer and tools like the onX Offroad wildfire and smoke layers to monitor changing conditions.
Join your route's official BDR Facebook group for current rider reports and local updates.
Ride Right, Ride Respectfully, Yield to Animals and Know Your Limits. We're receiving reports of riders speeding, not riding right, and blocking roads. Please be courteous, respect local communities, and remember that adventuring in the backcountry is a privilege, not a right. Be an ambassador for our sport and help preserve access for future riders.
